hey everyone! just want everyone to know that i, Paul Simpson, am still music director here at WCBN, but i now have a new co-MD, his name is Don Lyons and he's actually here during the day sometimes, so you can call him for tracking and stuff. he said he's here Mondays 3-6PM and Fridays 3-6PM. and i'm also in the office Wednesdays 6-7PM (all EASTERN time zone) if you need to get ahold of me then. regardless, i'm still doing charts, and i'm still answering emails, so i'll probably still be talking to some of you anyway. the MD office number is still (734) 763-3501, and voice mail doesn't work, so you'll just have to catch us when we're there. 

also, just a reminder, our station broadcasts live 24/7, the only outside pre-recorded programming we have is Free Speech Radio News, and we have an interview show called Living Writers which is sometimes pre-recorded, everything else is created live, spontaneously, in our studios, therefore we don't have any type of overnight automation system, and we don't have any type of "rotation" here either, it's all freeform programming chosen by the DJ's themselves. we are human DJ's, not computer chips or ipods, so we generally don't take digital submissions, only CDs and especially VINYL. downloading is convenient, and i do download digital promos for evaluation/review purposes, and sometimes airplay if it's absolutely the only way, but there's just too much music to download and the majority of it just ends up unlistened to on my hard drive and then i have to end up deleting it eventually. we don't have time, resources, money, or physical space in our studios to burn CDR's of every digital-only release, and we haven't worked out an easy way to store and DJ digital media. so please, send physical promos whenever possible. our mailing address, as always, is
