super thanks to Blues Control for playing an awesome show here in Ann Arbor last week, that we at WCBN helped set up, and i got to dj at. that was an amazing experience. this week at our monthly free night at the movies, our long-running freeform show Robot Pasta will be curating an evening of short films, including "The Delian Mode", a documentary on Delia Derbyshire of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop, and i'm a huge fan of her work, especially the album "An Electric Storm" by White Noise, so i'm looking forward to seeing this. and also, it's back to school week, our new schedule starts tomorrow and we have a ton of new dj's on board, so this semester is looking to be fantastic. anyway, might as well give a little beginning of semester update, hi, my name is Paul Simpson, i currently write for a webzine called Foxy Digitalis, i used to be RPM director at both WRSU in NJ and WPKN in CT, and now i live in Ann Arbor, so i'm here at WCBN, doing my own latenight freeform show, and i'm also one of the current dj's on a long-running mix show called Crush Collision. i'm one of 2 music directors here at WCBN, the other is Michael Newmeyer, but i'm the one who does charts, and most of the tracking. i'm usually at the station mondays around 5:30-6:30pm, and wednesdays usually after 6pm. (and a reminder: Michigan is in EASTERN TIME!) i have a 9-5 job so that kind of makes office hours difficult for normal business hours, but i should usually be around the office at those times. i look forward to another year of getting awesome music in the mail (we like cds and VINYL!!!) and doing lots of great radio! VIVA FREEFORM!!!!!!!!!!

What's the deal? It was a great weekend, if a) your not into sports or b) not a Michigan Wolverine fan. Other than that the weather and clubs were dope. Also a lot of new music from old and new artist. One I'm feeling is Kendrick Lamar and he hasn't disappointed me with anything he's put out yet. Talib Kweli hasn't either with the joints he's been putting out the last month. Can't wait until this weekends show, with all the new music and exclusives.
